This individual collaborates with community treatment team providers (care coordinator, skills specialists, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists) to coordinate continuity of care for consumers in our transitional living program in order to best help those consumers achieve desired goal of independent living skills. The Skills Development Technician is a staff person who works with consumers with severe psychiatric and independent living needs, encourages and supports development of ADL and independent living skills, teaching coping skills, symptom management skills and community resource training to help consumers achieve the best success at living independently in the community, primarily in a residential/community setting.


Hours are part time- weekends 4p-12a


  • Providing skills training and development
  • Assisting clients with their recovery plan goals and monitoring progress
  • Ability to manage caseload and meet service delivery requirements
  • Accurate, timely progress notes and reports/documentation
  • Crisis management
  • Desire to work in home-based and community settings


  • Completed high school diploma
  • Two years of work related experience (internships and/or volunteer experience can count toward one year experience requirement)
  • Experience working in a residential environment is a plus; additional experience working with SMI populations highly desired
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own, insured, transportation
