Adult and Child Center provides Therapeutic Foster Care for children in central Indiana who have been removed from their homes. As part of the Therapeutic Foster Care Team, the Therapeutic Care Specialist ensures that children's needs are being met in their foster homes, ensuring their safety and helping them to cope with the transition to foster care. The Therapeutic Care Specialist collaborates with licensing staff, Staff Therapists, psychologists, foster families, and DCS/Probation staff to support each child, while the family works toward reunification.
Therapeutic Care Specialists have the opportunity to help foster children heal and grow while in care, providing behavioral health services to meet each child's needs. This individual also works on skill building with children and families, supervises parental visits, attends court and team meetings with DCS/Probation staff, and provides case management with foster families. Services are delivered primarily in community-based settings.
